DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Workforce Supervisor with the Workforce Solutions Administration (WSA). This position is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and supervision of the daily activities of an operations team; setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion; and coordinating work activities with other supervisors.
Travel will be required for State business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and coordinate daily work assignments according to a system of management principles; provide direction and instructions to staff to ensure efficient operation of the programs in area of responsibility.
- Perform recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management functions to maintain an effective and efficient work environment.
- Attend and conduct meetings for the dissemination of information and program compliance.
- Design and implement procedures to ensure office operations and services are effective and efficient to meet program goals. Confer with management to resolve issues.
- Collect, compile, analyze, and submit data and correspondence timely to all Division/Administration requests.
- Interpret rules, regulations, and policies, along with EEO and affirmative action mandates governing DOL/DES programs.

- Labor market information and in-demand industries and occupations; Interviewing techniques, transferable skills, assessment tools, and strategies.
- Social, cultural, and economic conditions that impact the populations and area(s) served.
- Public assistance eligibility determination processes and Family Assistance Administration case read process.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience or 4 years of public contact or customer service work experience, employment counseling, or recruitment.
- Depending on assignment: experience working with farmworkers, refugees, and veterans; service-connected disabled veteran with other than a dishonorable discharge.
